The Leadership Summits for a Sustainable America

How to use this Web Site

Earth from SpaceThis web site is designed for the use of participants in the Energy and Climate Change Summit June 5-7 at the Wingspread Conference Center, and for the many leaders from the fields of sustainable energy and climate protection who because of space limitations at Wingspread cannot attend. Some 40 national leaders from business, government, academia, finance and the nonprofit community will participate in the Summit, but they respresent only a fraction of the many individuals and organizations that have committed to advancing the nation's energy and climate sustainability. This site is designed to allow those who attend and those who cannot to provide input to the Summit in the following ways:

1) The site contains examples of the two key products that will be discussed at the Summit: a list of sample action items to advance sustainable energy use and to address global climate change in the U.S., and a "Statement of Principles on Climate Protection". We encourage you to comment on any or all of the examples by clicking on the "Post a Comment" links at the end of the drafts. We will consolidate your comments and present them at the Summit.

2) Under the "Recent Articles" heading, the site contains recent news items, op-eds and other materials on energy and climate. Each item allows you to post comments, and to react to comments from others. Again, we will present the most salient comments at the Summit.

The site also contains a wide variety of additional information about energy security and global climate change, including hotlinks to other key web sites, information on sustainability indicators, suggested reading and background on the Summit and three companion events that will be held over the next two years. We invite you to send questions and suggestions to the Summit organizers at bill.becker@globalenergycenter.org.
